    Another great DVD from Sumogorilla!

Posted by Philip Stevens on 8th May 2015

This is my second purchase from Sumogorilla (the first being "Frankenstein Conquers the World") and I have to say, I am very impressed with the quality of their DVDs. As this film has only been officially released in English, this is the only way to get it in Japanese with English Subtitles.

Though this is a One-Disc DVD, the DVD oddly came in a double-disc packaging, most likely an accident. This is alright as I have spare white cases that carry 1 disc. The product itself looks up to standard and could pass for a professional product, while the quality of the film is top notch for most scenes!

I highly recommend this DVD and I will be buying from this website again!

The original Japanese edit, the superior version!

Posted by Jero on 5th Apr 2015

Very happy with the DVD. Disc plays great and the case had an extra compartment for a second DVD, which is nice for me because I also have the American edit so I was able to put the American edit in the same case as the Japanese edit. Includes about 10 minutes of additional footage that was not in the American edit. Includes some comical parts that were not in the American edit. And it's more coherent and made for sense than the American edit. If you liked King Kong vs. Godzilla, but have only seen the American edit, then you've got to see this version because it's the better version. Highly Recommended!

    Impressed

Posted by Unknown on 29th Mar 2015

I had the Japanese language version on vhs. The visual quality was not the best. However, when I started watching this dvd, I was very impressed. The audio/picture quality is much better than the vhs copy that I had. Also, the collection of trailers following the film was awe-inspiring. Very good job by sumogorilla.

Great film, and second "All Region" DVD I ever bought.

Posted by Lucas Hyde on 17th Feb 2015

I really enjoyed the film. The picture quality was satisfying, and the DVD played well on my American DVD player ( I knew it's an "All Region" DVD, and the SECOND "All Region" DVD that I have ever purchased; the first being the "Region-free" "Return of Godzilla;" the film from 1984/1985. I'm in America, so I worried a little bit about whether or not the money I put into this would be considered "wasted" if the DVDs didn't work. But it does, so I'm happy). But the only thing that bothered me was the appearance of the disc. One side wasn't labeled like 98% of all discs ever released in the DVD market. It was just a white sheet on one side that almost looks similar to its mirror side, which almost confused me. Other than that, the DVD was great.

The Only Way To Watch It

Posted by Sterling B. on 7th Feb 2015

Good video quality and the audio is the best this movie has ever sounded. Far superior to the mishandled American version. The Japanese version is the only way to watch King Kong vs. Godzilla.

    King Kong vs. Godzilla

Posted by Manuel Galang on 14th Jan 2015

Awesome! This is the only way to watch this film, in its original Japanese language version. I never knew there was an unedited version until recently. What a huge difference! Once again, I donated my American edit to Goodwill. I am never watching any English dub versions ever again. Kudos to Sumogorilla for hitting another one out of the park!

Great transfer of a somewhat "lost" entry, at least in the US!

Posted by Scotty Irving on 7th Jan 2015

Sumogorilla does it again with another great transfer of another film that the US seems to have no luck in getting released over here. Yes, the American version was my first ever KK or G film, but the Japanese version is FAR superior! See for yourself!

    Absolutely fantastic!

Godzilla vs. King Kong as it was meant to be seen! The picture looks great, the disc has trailer and documentary, the sound quality is strong; if this disc had a menu, it'd probably be indistinguishable from a studio release. There really is no excuse for any kaiju fan not to have this one in their collection- and I do mean 'this one,' from Sumogorilla; no bootleg or 3rd-party seller out there is going to give you a disc as crisp as this. Real quality and a GREAT price.
